With new safety measures in place, the Texas Giant roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, is set to reopen two months after Rosa Esparza plunged to her death on the ride on July 19. Some of the new measures include "redesigned restraint bar pads, new seat belts and a coaster seat at the ride's entrance for visitors to test their fit before they get it line,"
Secretary of State John Kerry met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday, in an effort to seek a diplomatic breakthrough in the continuing crisis in Syria, NBC News reported. Thursday's meeting was hastily set up after Kerry announced, somewhat off-handedly, on Monday that the Assad government may be able to avoid a military strike by the U.S. if it turned over all its chemical weapons within a week. That unusually delivered proposal was soon endorsed by his Russian counterpart.
Jordan Linn Graham, a Montana resident, who has been accused of pushing her husband off a cliff after an argument, was charged with second degree murder on Monday. The pair had been married for just eight days, and if convicted, Graham faces life in prison.
