68-year-old Anders Ebbeson, the husband of Katherine Harris, the former Florida Secretary of State who became nationally known for her role in the disputed 2000 presidential election, was found dead Tuesday of an apparent suicide at the couple's mansion.

Virginia State Senator Creigh Deeds was stabbed and critically wounded on Tuesday by an attack at around 7 a.m. at his hom in Milboro Bath County, UPI.com reported. His son Austin "Gus" Deeds" later died from apparent self-inflicted gun shot wounds, Virginia State Police said. Senator Deeds was stabbed multiple times in the head and upper torso before the 24-year-old shot himself to death.
