Ryan Gosling shocked with Eva Mendes pregnancy? Source hints couple may split up after baby

Was Ryan Gosling caught offguard with the news about his girlfriend's pregnancy? When news circulated over the Internet about Eva Mendes' purported baby with her "Place Beyond the Pines" co-star and boyfriend, a RadarOnline source said the person most surprised with the news was Gosling himself.

"It was completely unplanned. Ryan was surprised, especially because they had broken up early last year, only to get back together."

The Inquisitr also published a report about Gosling's dismay with the turn of events. The report went as far as saying that ahead of the pregnancy, the two were reportedly on another break from each other when they decided to hook up again. Moreover, the publication is saying that the baby news had also made Gosling feel trapped in the relationship, considering the fact that "The Notebook" star is not eager to settle, unlike his sexy girlfriend.

Speaking of "The Notebook," RadarOnline also cited the same source, who said that the two had hit a rough patch in the relationship over the movie director's recent comments about Gosling's working relationship with co-star and former girlfriend Rachel McAdams.

In an earlier interview, Nick Cassavetes said then, "Maybe I'm not supposed to tell this story, but [Ryan and Rachel] really were not getting along one day on set...They had it out...The rest of the film wasn't smooth sailing, but it was smoother sailing."

According to the source of the online tabloid, Ryan called up Nick and shared his dislike on how the director spoke about his ex, especially for the fact that Rachel is currently making the rounds to promote her new movie "A Most Wanted Man," which also stars the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. In gossip circles, Gosling has been observed to be the guy who is quite protective to those whom he loves. Because Gosling's alleged reaction, many have believed that Ryan still wants to get back with Rachel and is currently questioning his relationship status with Eva.

On the other hand, Mendes is reportedly assured that Gosling will remain in the relationship, at least for a while, thanks to the baby. The RadarOnline source added, "The house is quite small, and only has two bedrooms," the source revealed. "Eva has been looking for a bigger house to live in with Ryan once the baby is born. She's been ready for motherhood for a while now and to be sharing this experience with Ryan is a dream come true for her!"
