Despite being relegated to Saturday nights, AMC's "Hell on Wheels" will definitely return for its fourth season. The series will be back with 13 episodes, as Season 4 premiere is scheduled on August 2 with its new timeslot at 9:00 pm, reported Enstarz.

While details about the upcoming season premiere remain scant, Carter Matt dishes out minor spoilers about the plot of the season opener. Entitled "The Elusive Eden," the first episode will feature Thomas Durant, a rail industrialist played by "Star Trek" alumnus Colm Meaney, who will need to confront the consequence of a rail accident. The website also hinted on Durant's dark side turning out again.

AMC also dished out pieces of information about their plans for the fourth season in general. The show's post on its website reads, "Conflict between government and big business, ranchers, homesteaders and the railroad will continue to define the drama as all of those interests compete with one another for control of Cheyenne, Wyoming."

Meanwhile, Indiewire released an exclusive sneak preview of the upcoming fourth season of "Hell on Wheels."

The clip shows Thomas Durant, as he delivers a speech about his plans to venture into unknown territory. The promo also highlights a graphical time-lapse showing the details of building a railroad and a city.

"And our courageous men who go, know this, in order to grow, we must venture into unknown territory," Indiewire quoted Meaney's character.

Showrunner John Wirth said that fans may expect shocking events that will change the show's landscape, told Enstarz.

"Hell on Wheels" features Anson Mount who plays the role of Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier who commenced the show by seeking revenge. However, he has ended up being associated with the railroad industry. Set during the American Civil War, the show exhibits endless gunfights and confrontations with the Native Americans.
