Naresh Bhatt demands to know what evidence prosecutors have on him in the case of his vanished Virginia wife

As the search for missing Virginia mom Mamta Kafle continues, her husband Naresh Bhatt is demanding to know what evidence prosecutors have against him as he sits in a jail cell.

Bhatt is due back in court for a Brady hearing, according to WUSA9.

The Brady Rule is a legal motion that orders prosecutors to submit all evidence they have in a case to the defense.

Bhatt's defense team filed the motion, and a judge is expected to decide whether to grant the motion on Friday.

According to court documents, investigators believe Naresh Bhatt killed his wife in their Manassas Park home in late July and then disposed of her body.

Authorities have not confirmed that Mamta is dead and have not charged Naresh with murder; however, he still faces a charge of concealing a body.

Prosecutors have not presented evidence to charge Naresh Bhatt with murder, nor has he confessed to the killing of his wife.

Bhatt's defense team waived his right to a grand jury last week in hope of presenting his case before a jury sooner.

Meanwhile, law enforcement continues to organize search efforts for Mamta.

"We've done several searches. Not only here in Manassas Park, Manassas, Prince William County. We've done them in Loudoun County and Fairfax County," said Chief Mario Lugo in an interview with WUSA9.
