New details have emerged amid the desperate search for Virginia mother Mamta Bhatt.

Her husband, Naresh Bhatt, who law enforcement believe killed his wife, remains in custody in connection with her disappearance.

Officials are now saying GPS tracking data from a Tesla Bhatt allegedly sold days before he was arrested could hold crucial information, according to FOX5.

This is not the first time police would use GPS tracking locations to help solve a crime.

"Law enforcement certainly has a right to obtain information when it's relevant to a criminal prosecution," trial attorney Jeremy Wilson said.

"We're going to have a lot more of these types of disputes going forward."

Meanwhile, Bhatt's public defender has requested any evidence the Commonwealth Attorney has favorable to the defense, including a video from July 27 of Mamta getting into a vehicle after work.

They're also requesting body-worn camera footage from all police welfare checks at the Bhatt home as well as police reports on who was driving the car that picked up Mamta.

Bhatt is being charged with concealing a body and is being held without bond.
