Months ago, the body of 38-year-old Kristina Joksimovic, former Miss Switzerland finalist, was discovered in her home near Basel, Switzerland. Recent updates have revealed the incredibly grisly circumstances surrounding her death.

Joksimovic was allegedly strangled and dismembered before parts of her body were 'pureed' in a blender, according to an autopsy report released by Swiss officials.

Her husband, a 41-year-old man who is only referred to as "Thomas" in local media, confessed to committing the crime in March. He alleges that he committed the murder as an act of self-defense after Joksimovic attacked him with a knife, after which he continued to dismember her body while in a state of panic.

"According to the autopsy report, the body was dismembered in the laundry room with a jigsaw power tool, knife and secateurs," reported local Swiss media outlet FM1 Today. "Several body parts were then "pureed" with a hand blender and dissolved in a chemical."

Joksimovic's husband, with whom she shares two children, had allegedly choked the Miss Switzerland finalist in a previous incident. Thomas demonstrated "a lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife" according to prosecutors.

Her death was followed by an outpour of shock and grief by friends and loved ones on social media.

"No words, still sad. Rest in peace, my love." posted Miss Switzerland 2006 winner Christa Rigozzi

"Speechless. Rest in God's peace," added 2018 winner Jastina Doreen Riederer.

Rigozzi, a personal friend of Joksimovic, talked about her friend in a statement provided to 20 Minuten.

"It's terrible. I'm really shocked," said Rigozzi. "I'm thinking of her two daughters. She was such a beautiful and kind-hearted woman."

"I knew her well and I met him briefly. I am totally shocked and heartbroken." said Miss Switzerland 2002 winner Nadine Vinzens. "Never in my life would I have thought that something like this would happen."
