A three-minute call made by the father in law of actor Michael Jace was published on Thursday by the Los Angeles Fire Department. "My son-in-law called me, and (texted) me, and said come get the kids because he shot April, our daughter," Jace's father-in-law said.

Jace gained notoriety for playing Officer Julian Lowe on "The Shield," which also stars Michael Chiklis. His latest television role was of recurring character on te TNT cop series "Southland." According to his IMDb profile, Jace has somewhat carved himself in law enforcement types in several television shows, including "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Private Practice," "The Mentalist," "Burn Notice" and "NYPD Blue." He also had minor roles in several box-office films, which include "Forrest Gump," "Boogie Nights" and "Planet of the Apes."
