There are many discomforts that come to gym beginners. From popped shoulder joints to sore muscles. It is not easy throwing one's self in the muscle world and expecting to emerge in tip top shape.
But, alongside all these obstacles and hassles the one that baffles most is foot cramping. Here are some tips and professional takes on the matter from a podiatrist and a New York trainer.
Chris Ryan, CSCS (the New York Trainer) states the most hassle free and easiest way of approaching foot cramps is by hydrating your body. Dehydration plays a big role in cramping your muscles. Water is like lubricant for your muscles.
Without that lubricant or with a very small amount of it, the muscles will not be able to work normally. Perspiring while working out is also a major focal point of dehydration. As you sweat, your body's water levels drop.
And so, the body's muscles become tighter and that leads to contractions and cramping. That being a trainer's take on the matter this is Alex Kor's, a podiatrist, opinion and views:
Tight and uncomfortable gym shoes are another likely reason of your feet cramping. That is a problem a lot of people face with their shoes. It's either their toes or heels that are in a considerable amount of pain.
MensFitness reports that if you suffer from a metabolic disorder then foot cramping will become very common for you.
Kor states that when you work out your body temperature makes your feet swell. And with your tight shoes pressing down on the veins and nerve endings in your feet, cramping will start to take place within the muscles of your feet.
There are 2 solutions for this problem. The first one being the simplest and most obvious, get a new pair of shoes (try them on and wiggle your feet inside them before purchasing). Second solution is tying your shoes loosely and in a different way.
