Android Nougat 7.0 Running Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Surface On GeekBench

By

Geekbench has just seen the emerging Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 which runs the Android Nougat 7.0 . Having released two Galaxy Tab S2 variants two years ago in July 2015, a 9.7-inch and 8-inch models, Samsung also re-released upgraded models last year in April.

This listing indicates that the emergent tab could be an 8-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab S2 that happened to be released last year. This is also proven by the model number SM-T719. Recently, in December, a 9.7-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab S2 was spotted on GFXBench and surprisingly enough it also ran the Android Nougat 7.0.

It appears like both the Galaxy Tab S2 varients running on the Android Nougat 7.0 will receive the update in the near future although it is not certain when that will actually occur. Scoring 1,449 points on a single-core and 3.272 points in a multi-core benchmark, the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 listings and results do not indicate much other than the fact that Nougat is on the way to the Galaxy Tab S2 tablets. These tablets have made it onto Tech Radar's list of best tablets to purchase in 2017.

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona is set to kick off soon and it is expected to feature the Galaxy Tab S3. It is also possible that Samsung releases more information regarding the Android Nougat 7.0 during the subsequent press conference.

It is worthy to note that Samsung will not announce the Android Nougat 7.0 running Galaxy S8 Plus or the Galaxy S8 during the Congress conference. This will grant them with enough room to discuss other matter such as the updates in plan for the existing devices. However, the company will share some much awaited Galaxy S8 teasers.

The all-new flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone is expected to land in markets by the end of March or start of April. The 2016 Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 rocks an 8-inch 2048 x 1536 Super AMOLED display, 32GB of expandable storage and 3GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core processor fuels the device. The back of the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel shooter while the front side of the tablet has a 2.1-megapixel camera. The Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 (2016) comes preinstalled with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and, of course, users get the custom Samsung UI.
