‘Deadpool 2’ News Update: Will Wolverine Join the Cast?

By

The much-awaited sequel "Deadpool 2" will include Cable and Domino as the new friends (or enemies) of the anti-hero. And fans are wondering whether Hugh Jackman's Wolverine would be on the roster together with Ryan Reynolds.

Well, that possibility pretty much lies on Hugh Jackman's decision. As mentioned, he decided to make "Logan" his final film as Wolverine, which means he needs to take back his word if he will be making a crossover to Ryan Reynold's "Deadpool." Yet, Hugh Jackman's conviction seems to be headstrong.

In an interview with Yahoo, Hugh Jackman said about "Deadpool 2," "I've never thought about it till now, but doing something with Ryan - he's awesome - that's always attractive to me. But I think you've probably got several other people lined up to play [Wolverine]."

Everything is great between Reynolds and Jackman, in fact they pretty much harmonize with each other's humour and thinking. However, for Jackman to boldly state that other people can take the adamantium claws as theirs - it pretty much shows how decided he is not to make another film as the Wolverine, even if it is for an expected blockbuster "Deadpool 2."

As mentioned by Cinema Blend, any person who will try to take the Wolverine role will be trapped on the process of endless comparison with Hugh Jackman. For almost two decades, he owned the role across the "Wolverine" and "X-Men" franchises. Fox's plans regarding the Wolverine role is still unclear, but rest-assured that there will be a replacement for the role since the character itself is an integral part of the X-Men universe.

Still, it would be a dream come true for comic fans to witness a real fight (or alliance) between Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool for the upcoming "Deadpool 2." Still, even without Wolverine, having Cable and Domino in the cast will surely account to something big for the movie franchise.
