"La La Land" reigned the BAFTA Awards night being up for 11 gongs. Lead acts Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are expected to show up on the red carpet. However, Stone walked alone the red carpet without a date, and she didn't say anything until the reason was officially announced.
According to Ryan Gosling's spokesperson, the actor is regretful to be unable to attend the BAFTA, especially when the film was critically-acclaimed and won a number of awards, Mirror reports. The reason was "family matters," which was not clearly outlined for the media's concern. Emma Stone knew the reason as well, but kept silent proving her professional disposition on the matter.
Though attending the BAFTA Awards 2017 without a date, Emma Stone is not alone as her "La La Land" family has proved to be on back. The fans are also there as well to give their support to the actress. The Awards night which was held at London's Royal Albert Hall was attended by Hollywood giants as well as the royal couple of England.
"La La Land" won Best Film, Best Director, and Best Leading Actress for Emma Stone. She acknowledged the BAFTA board for appreciating her craft in the movie. As the film's content was about auditions and living up to dreams, Emma said that what made her feel comfortable with her role as Mia was her countless experiences in auditioning when she was starting - as well as the shared experiences of her co-stars,The Sun.
On an interview with Zoe Ball on the red carpet, she asked Emma Stone if the actress prepared an acceptance speech by any chance she will win. A bit amused, part of Emma's reply was "I'm just going to enjoy the show. That's what I'm going to do."
Then when teased with the remark "Cruella," which implies the curiosity over Emma Stone's rumoured role as Cruella de Vil for the "101 Dalmatians" spinoff, the actress seemed annoyed and replied with words, "What about her? We will see, it's very early so we'll see how it all plans out."
