The much-awaited sequel movie "Avatar 2" is set to start motion capture anytime soon. Director James Cameron updates that he finished writing scripts for all four sequels of the film which is the reason why the follow-up movie took this long.
As reported by IGN, James Cameron is not focused on Avatar 2 alone, but rather, focused on all four sequels equally. The director's approach may have delayed the release of the movie, but learning that all four scripts are finished means that consecutive releases will happen for Avatar 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Getting to the term "equally," James Cameron also wants to emphasize the uniform quality on all four films. All movies will be launched in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2023. Aside from writing the scripts, Cameron also spends some time for the unveiling of an Avatar-themed park. For seven years, the sequels' script were on the works non-stop, thanks to James Cameron's dedication to his craft.
According to Screen Crush, the titles for the next Avatar films will be "Avatar 2: Colonialist Boogaloo," "Avatar 3: Pandora Drift," "Avatar 4: The Dream Master," and "Avatar 5: The Search for Curly's Unobtainium." The official start of motion capture would be on August 2017.
The cast for Avatar 2 will include Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. Since Avatar's debut in 2009, it remained the top-grossing film of all-time. As the first movie to have made use of 3D-fim technology, the audience awaits if there would be more visual treat for all movie-goers.
The director once teased about his intention to release a 3D Avatar film without the use of 3D glasses. It is yet to know on which of the four sequels he would intend to start that trend.
20th Century Fox gives clue when the exact airing date would be for Avatar 2. A James Cameron project was pencilled to be released by Dec. 20, 2018. Many assume the "project" is actually the Avatar 2, following the release trend of Avatar back in Dec. 2009, Independent reports.
