Miami police releases Justin Bieber jail pictures from January 23 arrest, withheld other sensitive photos

The Miami Beach Police Department recently released 18 photos of Justin Bieber following his arrest on January 23 this year, E! Online said. The photos, which were never released to the public, showed many of the pop star's growing tattoo collection. Some of the tattoos including an image of Jesus praying, a joker grinning with the word "love," a Bible quote which read "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path," and an Indian chief's head.

The report subsequently made by the police described Bieber who shows signs of being under the influence of illegal substances. Bieber was reportedly excited, talkative, profane, cooperative, insulting and cocky, the police said. The pop star also underwent a urine test, of which he was found to have traces of Xanax and marijuana.

There was much debate about the release of the photos since it has been said that some of them contain the pop star's genitals. Miami-Dade County Judge William Altfield had decided to release additional video footage of the singer after careful review and said that the footage will block out or censor parts where it will show Bieber's genitals. E! Online said two of the five unreleased video clips showed Bieber's genitalia while urinating in a cup at the Miami Beach Police District.

E! Online said that Bieber's legal camp had motioned to block media access of any visual images prior to the arrest and invoked their client's privacy rights in the process. To recognize the concerns of Bieber's legal representatives, Altfield affirmed that the access to those video clips were denied as the videos were deemed not necessary for public viewing.

"Mr. Bieber's right to privacy is paramount. He has not lost his right to privacy, and that is what is important here," Altfield said.

The entertainment news site said Bieber and Khalil Amir Sharieff were arrested by police officers for their involvement in an illegal drag race between two expensive cars in January. It is to note that neither of the music star was charged for their partition in the drag racing activity.
