Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest News & Update: Flagship Smartphone To Come With 3,000mAh And 3,500mAh Batteries

By

Two contrasting features and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S8 are now confirmed. And if its consumers are into bigger screen displays, then the imminent flagship smartphones of the South Korean company may just be the perfect devices for them. However, the same thing couldn't be said with its batteries, reports are indicating.

According to GSMArena, the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 duo is set to features two battery tiers: 3,000mAH and 3,500mAh batteries. These battery tiers are a bit of a letdown as they have not been beefed up as expected. In addition, the publication citing an unnamed Samsung official via the Korean news outlet News1, tipped that the Samsung Galaxy S8 with 5.8-inch variant will be sporting the former while the larger sibling with 6.2-inch display will be supported by the latter battery.

The latest development confirms that the next flagship smartphones will be serving a slightly higher capacity in terms of screen outings. Their predecessors supported a 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch for Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge respectively.

Meanwhile, if the latest information will indeed turn out accurately at the time of the flagships' launching, then it would entail that the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will be sporting the same battery capacity that its problematic Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had showcased.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus are expected to be unveiled on March 29 at the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The event is slated to kick off this month.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus are to succeed the company's infamous Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that catapulted the firm into its biggest controversy to date. The smartphones are speculated to be equipped with topnotch features such a dedicated button of its digital AI assistant Bixby, a set of near bezel-less displays and a dual camera set-up.

Other features and specifications of Samsung Galaxy S8 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Android Nougat, an IP68 certification and the firm's proprietary payment platform Samsung Pay.
