As the annual Mobile World Congress nears, more leaks are to be expected from some of the most highly-awaited flagship smartphones in the industry. The latest leak in town is associated to Samsung Galaxy S8 — and it has nothing to do with its specification.
The leaking of Samsung Galaxy S8's much talked about official cases is as important as it is crucial nowadays. With the recent confusion as to where the South Korean company is placing its fingerprint reader, the surfacing information is a confirmation of the controversial feature's location. Phone Arena has reported that two alleged cases that were found on Chinese social website Weibo have indicated that the fingerprint scanner may be placed right beside the rear camera. If to come out officially, it will be the company's first to situate its fingerprint scanner at their smartphones' back.
As such, the leaked images of Samsung Galaxy S8's cases have also confirmed that the forthcoming smartphone will be sporting a 5.7-inch display along with a much larger 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. In addition, it was revealed that both units will be coming with a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 X 2560.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus are expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, the first iterations to sport the ultra fast chipset. In addition, both units will be supported by a 4GB or 6GB random accesss memory with varying tiers of internal storage. On the other hand, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera along with a 5MP front-facing snapper are likewise to be included in the upcoming flagship.
GSMArena has also reported that both devices may come with a dedicated Bixby button, Samsung's very first AI assistant. Samsung Galaxy S8 is also speculated to come with a Type-C USB port along with a 3250mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to be unveiled on March 29 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It will be launched alongside its competitors Xiaomi Mi 6 and LG G6.
