While most news outlets are now gearing for the outing of the most speculated features and specifications of one of the much-anticipated smartphones in 2017, few have come out in the open and revealed their disadvantages. This is a feat that is deemed to be nihilistic but nevertheless practical, on the potential consumers' end. Case in point is the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S8's drawbacks.
In a report from Forbes, it is revealed that Samsung Galaxy S8 may come with two possible disadvantages based on the recent leaks that are attributed to the flagship smartphone. Just within this week, two notable leaks have surfaced indicating that consumers may have to think hard and wisely before purchasing the device.
First on the list is Samsung's decision to enlarge its branding on its rear. While most users prefer to tote their handsets around with their glorious brandings, some minimalists may still choose to keep it inconspicuously. The South Korean company's purported choice to go rather largely with its branding on the upcoming handset is understandable as Samsung Galaxy S8 is slated to come with a much larger screen. As such, its bezels will be significantly reduced.
In a tweet by the noted leakster Evan Blass, he revealed that the "top 1/4" of Samsung Galaxy S8's screen will be carrying around a rather invasive "Samsung" branding on it. May it be under some aesthetic reasons of some sort, the decision may not go well with some consumers.
Rounding up the list is Samsung Galaxy S8's awkwardly positioned fingerprint reader. While most of the fingerprint readers today are situated right on their devices' rear, Samsung's decision to place it near the camera, based on the recent tweet by Blass, has been met with mixed reactions. Some are not at ease reaching that location while others are complaining that their fingers might smudge the camera sensors.
As per NDTV, Samsung Galaxy S8's other features and specifications will include Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, an expandable 64GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 12MP rear camera, a dedicated Bixy button, and 3000mAh and 3500mAh battery tiers.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is scheduled to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in the coming months. It will go against its fiercest competition LG G6 and Xiaomi Mi 6.
