Tom Clancy's The Division has had its own trials and tribulations. Upon its release, it wasn't exactly the most resounding title from the Tom Clancy franchise. Its marketing was not up to standards and the hype was less than appreciative, but it was still a different approach to the standard Tom Clancy franchise which focuses on your standard first-person shooter elements. Get a gun, fire the gun, make sure the mark is dead, rinse and repeat; these are usually what entails in one of these games, but while The Division has these elements, it decided to go a bit further by expanding the story to something past your standard "shoot first, ask questions later" agenda. Instead, it turned into a third-person shooter that featured a lot of online cooperative gameplay among other things. Being an online game, however, has its bad traits, and Tom Clancy's The Division also took the same backlash from its online community as most online games did, particularly its online community and a certain exploitable glitch.
The game's 1.6 update has promised its players a lot of things. iDigital Times states that the game will include new modes, new maps, new challenges and a location said to be placed within Central Park of New York City. The game's story drew in quite a bit of intrigue from its players, but the developers behind the game wanted to know more feedback from their players, so they would continue to do retrieve such feedback by posting a survey on their reddit to understand what exactly it is that the players think would make the game better. While the input was quite helpful, it does not mean that the next update will be perfect, and some people will find that when there's trouble in paradise, they seek a way to exploit it.
The exploit, of course, is the big issue for the game developers now, seeing as how the community has found a way to survive the new mode by using an unlimited medicine glitch. According to Websamurai.co.uk, the glitch is only applicable to those playing the game on the Xbox One. While the glitch must be performed within quick succession of other tasks that involve sharing the medicine, it is still doable. While the glitch is an issue, the community for the game reacts both positively and negatively to the focus on PvP in the game's Dark Zone. Part of the community requests that the PvP mode be changed to balance it out, but there is a portion that wants it to stay the same and even enjoys the PvP element and its challenges that it presents. Though the game still needs to go through some more changes, it is a comforting thought that the developers, unlike so many years before, are listening to their demographic and are open to change.
