James McAvoy, Anne-Marie Duff Appeal for Privacy On Divorce; 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Star Linked to Jennifer Lawrence

"Shameless" alums James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff have officially announced the end of their relationship that lasted for almost 10 years.

According to People, "Shameless" alums James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff released a joint statement on May 13, Friday, to announce the end of their 10 years of marriage. The couple's decision to divorce comes along with sadness. Despite that, they ensured that they will remain as friends and will have a fair share on focusing and taking care of their 5-year-old son, Brendan.

McAvoy, 37, and Duff, 45, are still living together at their North London home since their relationship stll have the same level of respect, though, each one of them are single. Both parties also agreed to decline offers that require them to work together. They are also cautious on utilizing the media by just promoting their movies.

The divorce came after McAvoy's promotional tour for his new movie. "X-Men: Apocalypse". which is set to be released in the UK cinemas on Tuesday, May 18. He made a guest appearance with Jennifer Lawrence on the Graham Norton Show where viewers noticed their flirty attitude towards each other, International Business Times reports.

In addition, James McAvoy is also linked to his "X-Men: Apocalypse" co-star Alexandra Shipp. The two met on the set of "X-Men" the movie and got close to each other while filming. The Scottish actor wrapped his hands around 24-year-old American actress, who is 13 years younger than McAvoy. McAvoy plays the role of Professor X while Ship for the role of Storm, Mirror has learned.

The pair appeals for respect and privacy for due process and most especially for their son, where representatives on both sides remain silent for their joint statement. The two married in a low-key, private wedding ceremony on October 18, 2006 and welcomed their son in 2010.
