The Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, just blessed the public with their first selfie on Instagram. However, the twins only did this for a minute.
Mary-Kate and Ashley are known to lead a very private life despite their popularity. They rarely appear on red carpet and they don't even have their personal social media accounts, except for their business. They only use social media to promote their clothing line Elizabeth and James which boasts perfume line Nirvana Black and Nirvana White on top of their hand creams, oils and dry shampoos.
However, the netizens went gaga last night after the famous twins posted their first Instagram selfie during a Sephora takeover, as reported by Asia One. Sephora encouraged them to give the public a peek of their daily life as designers and creative directors of their own brand.
In their selfie, Mary-Kate and Ashley wore their sunglasses while posing with their signature red carpet pout, as per Hufftington Post. Although they only show their faces, their fans expect that the twins are wearing trendy and chic outfits.
But the twins shy away from the camera during the rest of the takeover. They just posted photos of their upcoming Fall 2016 collections, some handbag materials, two salads and a picture of a guy whom we think is their staff with a caption "Hey man. How are those handbag samples coming along?"
The twins really did a good job in leading a very private life. How private is private? Remember one of the twins' surprise wedding? Well, E! reported last November 2015 that Mary-Kate Olsen, 29, already tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, French banker Olivier Sarkozy, 46, in New York.
This once-in-a-lifetime happening had their fans hope that they will soon be back with their own social media accounts. But we think that is unlikely to happen. Ever since social media and photo sharing applications are released in the market, Mary-Kate and Ashley distanced themselves from any form of online presence even though they are a part of a digital generation. In an interview with Vogue in 2011, Mary-Kate said, "We've spent our whole lives trying to not let people have that accessibility, so it would go against everything we've done in our lives to not be in the public." Ashley also added, "Twitter gives me anxiety."
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen became famous ever since they played their roles in "Full House" as children which gave them a combined fortune of $300 million.
