Los Angeles police confirms on Wednesday, that a criminal investigation was launched against American actor Charlie Sheen. Though, the officials said, the victim's identity could not be revealed, the probe also points to the actor's former fiancée, who also reported she was threatened by the actor.
According to USA Today, the Threat Management Unit detectives of the LA police department continue to investigate the actor after LAPD's Van Nuys division received the an alleged threat case on March 31, Officer Matthew Ludwig, a spokesman for the department said. Ludwig added, he could not disclose further information regarding the case as the victim's identity is confidential.
However, David Ring, the representing attorney for Charlie Sheen's former fiancée, adult film star, Scottine Rossi verified the Two and a Half Men actor is investigated over death threat allegations. Rossi asked authorities for an emergency protective order against Sheen, which was granted last week.
A 35-minute audio recording, which was obtained by a celebrity news site has received subpoena from the authorities. The said recording appears to be Sheen's threats to his former fiancée, Fox News reported. The female porn star, known for her name on the adult film as Brett Rossi files a lawsuit against the actor after the two engaged in sex and the actor did not reveal that he has HIV.
The couple got engaged in 2014, however, they went through on bitter breakup. She also filed a lawsuit against the Sheen over assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence allegations, New York Daily News reported. On her threat lawsuit, she claims, she was terrified after the actor allegedly told her that he would "pay someone $20,000 to kill her".
Sheen's lawyer and publicist still not yet made a comment regarding the criminal probe carried out by the Threat Management detectives, which investigate serious stalking and criminal threats cases, although often the celebrity, politician or other dignitary is the victim.
The "Two and a Half Men" star revealed in the public that he was HIV positive on the "Today" show in November. However, he vowed he will would not pay to settle over claims that he exposed sexual partners to the said virus.
