ABC has announced that "Scandal" Season 5 will continue for season 6. However series creator Shonda Rhimes confirmed that the 6th installment will also be the last to air on TV. Aside from that, the official plot description of episode 18 'Till Death Do Us Part' has been released while a recap of last week's episode 17 'Thwack' is provided here for fans who have missed to watch it.

ABC Television Network officially announced that they ordered an early renewal for "Scandal" Season 6. However, rumors have spread that the upcoming season will also be the last to air on TV.

Because of that, series creator Shonda Rhimes responded to the said rumor via Adweek. "Scandal is a limited story unlike the 'Grey's Anatomy' series that could continue for years to come. I am not watching Olivia Pope grow up, I am watching a specific moment in time, and I feel like in order to tell the story correctly, you have to end it.

As for the official plot synopsis of episode 18, Spoilers Guide notes, "As Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) deals with the aftermath of what she's done, she finally finds out what exactly Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) and Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) are plotting. But with their plans already in motion, Olivia is forced to make a gut-wrenching attempt to try and stop it. Meanwhile, in flashbacks, we learn more about Jake's past and how he first got involved with B6-13."

For a quick recap of "Scandal" Season previous episode 17 'Thwack' New York Daily News reported that, the election was in full swing where each candidate did their best to take down their opponents by means of backstabbing and blackmailing them.

However, a potential leak has threatened several candidates which forced temporary alliances among adversaries to work together on keeping their agendas safe and to protect their reputation to the public and voters alike.

"Scandal" Season 5 Episode 18 is entitled as "Till Death Do Us Part:". The forthcoming episode is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. first and exclusive on ABC Television Network.
