The thoughts of The Elder Scrolls 6 coming into fruition may have been too much for the fans to call, especially with the success that the relative title Fallout 4 is basking on. However, the talk hasn't receded at all; instead, it takes a heaping lot out of the developers to thwart the rumors aside.
As per Yibada, it was announced by Bethesda that there could be a need for an engine programmer to work on something new that the company could be cooking up. Though unnamed, gamers and fans alike have naturally assumed that the said title could be The Elder Scrolls 6 or as some would prefer to call it, Skyrim 2.
According to Christian Times, Bethesda's Pete Hines was quoted, "It's rare to have franchises like the ones we have and to have people joking about 'when is Skyrim 2 coming out?' The reason they say that is because generally speaking that's what you'd be getting with another publisher in charge. They'd be spitting out a Skyrim 2 the year after or two years later. That's just not how we view it. We're not the sort of publisher that focuses on 'what's our 25 titles for 2015'."
Generally, as noted Parent Herald, the company takes ample time in making their titles come to life and is not eager to get things done right away. Even through all the denial that the company takes effort on, the rumors of a possible 2017 release went viral online, possibly disregarding what Fallout 4 is going through.
Overall, The Elder Scrolls 6 is still an uncertainty, but the idea of the game coming forth has not completely been ruled out. Bethesda's Fallout 4 is still the hottest priority for the moment, given that it will come up with another two downloadable content updates for the next few months.
