‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ unleashes malicious Four Horsemen in latest featurette; Michael Fassbender debuts evil Magneto

'X: Men Apocalypse' recently unleashed the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse in the latest featurette and character posters. It featured Michael Fassbender as an evil Magneto, clad in his iconic red armor.

According to Coming Soon, the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse finally take center stage in the latest featurette unveiled by 20th Century Fox. It showed Oscar Isaac as the powerful mutant En Sabah Nur a.k.a. Apocalypse merging with Celestial technology to take on the task of wiping out the mutant race as well as all of humanity for the purpose of creating a new world. With him are the Four Horsemen, genetically and mentally altered underlings enhanced with extremely destructive abilities.

The new featurette also officially introduced Olivia Munn's Psylocke, Ben Hardy's Angel, Alexandra Shipp's Storm and Michael Fassbender's Magneto as the evil henchmen and the film's main antagonists. Munn hinted in the featurette, "Apocalypse and the four horsemen - they're very powerful. The whole world is at stake."

Four equally dark character posters posted on Comic Book Resources have also been released, showing each mutant standing in their respective costumes amid smoke and silhouettes of horses. Fassbender's Magneto is clad in his iconic red armor, Munn's Psylocke in her purple armor, Shipp's Storm and Hardy's Angel both clad in black armor.

According to Superherohype, the new film will follow James McAvoy's Professor X and his team of young X-Men as they struggle to defeat Apocalypse and ultimately save mankind from obliteration. Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne will return as Mystique, Beast and Moira MacTaggert, respectively. New cast members include Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner and Lana Condor will portray the younger versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Jubilee.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel comic books of the same name. It is directed by Bryan Singer with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg. It is scheduled to premiere in U.S. theaters on May 27, 2016.
