The upcoming release date of Hearthstone 'Whisper of the Old Gods' expansion might have been leaked by no other than Blizzard Entertainment itself and gamers who are waiting to get their hands on the DLC could do it sooner than one might have expected.
The game developer might have leaked the release date of the the new 'Whispers of the Old Gods' expansion for its Hearthstone title. Eagle-eyed Redditors reportedly spotted this development upon logging in at Battle.net with the intention of buying the 'Curse of Naxxaramas' but got some message at the said developer's page which reads:
Starting April 26, 2016 cards from this set will only be playable in Wild play format (which includes the following game modes: solo play, Adventures, Arena, and some Tavern Brawls). You'll no longer be able to purchase this adventure unless you've already unlocked at least one of its wings, but you'll be able to craft cards from this set using Arcane Dust.
According to iDigital Times, Blizzard announced in earlier reports that Standard and Wild format changes will become available upon release of the new expansion for Hearthstone. Moreso, the adventures that will not be compatible in Standard will no longer be offered for purchase. The developer also added that the said change will take place in April or early May.
Thus, April 26 appeared to fall within the given timeline for release and based on the speed on how Blizzard uncover the cards, gamers must already have most number if not completely revealed by that time.
Hearthstone received its last expansion titled 'The Grand Tournament' less than a year past and after that, a single adventure called 'League of Explorers' which brought in the existence of stale meta of Secret Paladins and Mid-range Druids that gamers have now.
