Destiny New Update Rolls Out Next Week; New Chroma, Sterling Treasure and More Features Included

Bungie's popular first person shooter title, Destiny, is set to receive a new update come A,pril 12, packed with the addition of new material as well as the Sterling Treasure that will be source of new armour, weapons, sparrows, ships, boosts and other features.

On its official blog post, the developer has confirmed that fans of the game will be receiving the April update next week with various add-on items particularly, the new material Chroma that will enable gamers to add a luminous glow to their player characters. Also included is the Sterling Treasure which is going to be a source of new Armor, Chroma, Ships, Sparrows and Boosts.

Bungie has outlined a list of the features that will form part of Destiny's April update, the details of which are provided below:

  • The April Update will provide new Armor and Weapons for your Guardian
  • Chroma is a new material that enables you to add a luminous glow to your character
  • Sterling Treasure boxes are a source of new Armor, Chroma, Ships, Sparrows, and Boosts
  • You can earn a total of three Sterling Treasure boxes each week
    • Play one weekly Crucible match featured in the Director
    • Emerge triumphant from the Level 41 Prison of Elders
    • Visit a Postmaster in the Tower or the Reef
  • Eververse has Sterling Treasure boxes, too, along with new Emotes for your Guardian
  • Vault Space is being expanded with one additional tab for Armor, Weapons, and General items
  • Some popular Year One Legendary Weapons are making a comeback in Year Two
  • Chroma can be added to Weapons allowing you to customise the look of your gun for the first time
  • There is also a Taken Sword

Apart from this, there are several Legendary Year One weapons being released, which include:

  • The Devil You Know
  • Shadow Price
  • LDR 5001
  • Badger CCL
  • The Comedian
  • THE SWARM
  • Y-09 Longbow Synthesis
  • Grim Citizen III
  • Two to the Morgue
  • Zombie Apocalypse WF47
  • The Saterienne Rapier
  • Lord High Fixer

Meanwhile, after more than a year since Destiny was launched back in 2014, publisher Activision has now confirmed the development of the long rumoured Destiny 2 on its latest financial earnings report. An online leak claimed that the sequel will be entitled 'Shattered Suns' and will be launched in 2017, as reported earlier by Tech Insider citing an unnamed source. The game plot is said to revolved around Osiris and his journey.

Following the leak, the developer then confirmed that game aficionados can indeed look forward to get their hands on 'Destiny 2' next year. What's more is that a big update for Destiny will also be released in September this year.

Destiny was launched globally on September 9, 2014, for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles.
