By

HTC One E8 phones are finally receiving the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade following flagship phones One M9 and One M8. Amid the unlikely update of the device which is sooner than expected, should One E9 go an extra mile for Marshmallow and follow suit?

HTC has officially released the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update after releases on One M9 and One M8. One E8 was revealed last year to receive the upgrade by the second quarter of 2016. It is the second HTC mid-ranger to receive Marshmallow following Desire EYE.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes with the new build number 3.07.707.1 for One E8, weighing a whopping 1.12GB. This update was already expected to be heavy since HTC had prepped several goodies for its devices, including the Sense 7.0 user interface.

The update began in China and in some European countries and is expected to proceed in the United States in a couple of weeks, Nashville Chatter Class reported. Meanwhile, there is no concrete information yet as to when the upgrade will come to One E9 units. As it was announced last year, the device will receive the upgrade this quarter.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with several key improvements in overall performance. A good number of the best known features of the software are coming to the phone, including support for fingerprint scanner and Android Pay, more mobile payment systems like Visa, Master Card, Discovery and Google Pay, more intuitive Google Now, better apps permissions, redesigned app drawer, direct share, improved copy, cut and paste options, and several others.

Sense 7.0 has more fluid animations and a few changes for a more convenient user experience. Sense 7.0 also gets a flatter and simpler design, new icons, new themes app, new notification panel, updated system apps, improved home screen, new widgets, more effective battery management, better settings menu, new app permissions control, new lock screen, plus several other improvements and bug fixes.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will also be coming to One M9+, One M8 Eye, One ME, One E9+, One Butterfly 3, Desire 826, Desire 820, and Desire 816.
