Production for Doctor Strange is currently underway and recent plot speculations suggest that an Infinity Stone could be introduced in the upcoming flick. Moreover, '12 Years a Slave' actor Chiwetel Ejiofor revealed details of his casting for the role of Baron Mordo.
Filming is ongoing for the project and just last month, photos of a bloody Benedict Cumberbatch donning the titular character's blue and red costume have surfaced on the internet. As reported by International Business Times, a fan-taken video of Cumberbatch along with Ejiofor has also made their rounds online featuring both actors in character as they come to the rescue of Benedict Wong's character, Wong.
Some of the shots were filmed in London although it is understood that the action in the movie will be set in New York. The movie will center on the titular Doctor Stephen Strange who turns to magic in an effort to find ways for his injured hand to healed following a horrific accident. He will then train under the Ancient One to be played by Tilda Swinton, to become earth's protector against mystical evils.
According to Movie News Guide, recent speculations surrounding the film suggest that one of the two Infinity Stones that haven't appeared in the MCU could be introduced in the film. Among the six Infinity Stones, four have already made their debut in the MCU, and the remaining two are rumored to be released in two of the upcoming films to be released by Marvel.
Furthermore, in another report by the trade, actor Chiwetel Ejiofor revealed how he was cast for the role of Baron Mordo. Ejiofor admitted that he has always been a fan of Marvel movies. He revealed that he decided that he wanted to be part of MCU after he watched James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. Ejiofor said that he personally met with producer Kevin Feige to find a role for him, and so the character of Baron Mordo has found its actor.
More details about the plot and characters are expected to be revealed as production progress. Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson and screenplay by C. Robert Cargill, Thomas Dean Donnelly, Joshua Oppenheimer, and Jon Spaihts. It is slated to be released on November 04, 2016.
