'Baywatch' is an upcoming comedy film based on the popular action-drama television series of the same name. Social media sensation and Spanish-born singer songwriter Belinda is set to join Zac Efron and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the reboot. Original star David Hasselhoff will also be making a cameo in the new film.
According to Deadline, Mexican social media sensation Belinda joins the cast of the new 'Baywatch' cinematic reboot that includes Zac Efron and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as lead protagonists Matt Brody and Mitch Buchannon, respectively.
Details of her new role have yet to be revealed, according to Cinema Blend. However, it was speculated that she may be one of the beautiful lifeguards alongside Alexandra Daddario's Summer Quinn and Kelly Rohrbach's C.J. Parker.
Belinda Peregrin Schull, professionally known as Belinda, is a Spanish-born singer and songwriter popular in the Latin community. She released a self-titled album in 2003 and sold over 2.5 million records worldwide. Her second album 'Utopia' earned her two nominations for the Latin Grammy Awards.
In addition to Belinda's success in the music industry, she also appeared in films including the Disney Channel Original Movie 'The Cheetah Girls 2'. She also worked on various soap operas such as 'Camaleones', 'Corazones al limite' and 'Complices al rescate'.
Meanwhile, David Hasselhoff of the original 'Baywatch' television series is set to appear in the upcoming comedy film. According to A.V. Club, Johnson announced Hasselhoff's involvement to the project on his personal Facebook page.

Hasselhoff, nicknamed "The Hoff", played dedicated L.A. County lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the original television series 'Baywatch'. He also produced 'Baywatch' from the 1990s until 2001.
'Baywatch' is an upcoming remake of the popular action-drama television series of the same name. It is directed by Seth Gordon and written for the big screen by Robert Ben Garant and Justin Malen. It is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2017 in the United States.
