'Attack on Titan' Season 2 release date could push back further; Creator Hajime Isayama, director Tetsuro Araki temporarily suspend production

The release date of "Attack on Titan" Season 2 might be delayed since creator Hajime Isayama and director Tetsuro Araki decided to temporarily suspend the production. The upcoming installment will feature the 104th Trainees Squad's battle with the Titans and the revelation of Eren Yeager's secret. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the newest DLC on the manga series' mobile game.

The official release date of "Attack on Titan" Season 2 might be delayed due to the suspension of its production. According to Movie Pilot, animator Hajime Isayama and director Tetsuro Araki agreed that the manga should be four story arcs ahead of the anime adaptation at all times so as to keep up with the story flow.

As of now, the manga is only two story arcs ahead. This means that there are still two story arcs to be completed before the production begins. Because of that, Araki and Isayama decided to temporarily suspend the production.

The plotlines for the sophomore season will feature the 104th Trainees Squad as they go head to head with the Titans. In addition, Eren Yeager's secret for his Titan-like capabilities will be revealed, Bitbag reports.

In related news, avid fans can now get their hands on the newest feature of the "Attack on Titan" game. Koei Tecmo officially started streaming a new downloadable content (DLC) video for Survey Corps members to take down Titans as they wear Christmas-themed costumes.

Each holiday-inspired attire cost 350 yen but "Attack on Titan" players can buy it for only 200 yen when they opt to purchase the whole set of four costumes for 1200 yen, the newest DLC also comes along with a set of weapons that match the fighters outfits. Anime News Network cited that Koei Tecmo plans to officially release the costume and weapon sets on March 17, 2016, .

The production of "Attack on Titan" Season 2 is currently suspended as of this moment. "Attack on Titan" is a Japanese manga series franchise which is written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama.
