Anime director Tetsuro Araki has made an official statement that "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will premiere during the second half of the year 2016. This is because Araki and creator Isayama made an agreement that they will release the anime adaptation once the manga is 4 story arcs forward. Also, the upcoming installment will feature the "Clash of Titans" arc, the Reiss family, and introduce new characters.
Anime director Tetsuro Araki has officially announced that "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will premiere during the latter months of the year. The premiere date has not been released until now due to the creator Hajime Isayama and Araki's agreement that the manga should be 4 story arcs ahead of the series, Cross Map has cited.
With that being said, the upcoming season 2 of the Japanese anime adaptation hit series will feature the "Clash of the Titans" arc. According to wikipage on Shingeki No Kyojin, the story arc will reveal the real identity of lovers Ymir and Krista Lenz.
Ymir happens to be a Titan who is roaming around the wall for 60 years before coming back to her human form, only after eating Marcel, a friend of Reiner Braun, Bertolt, and Annie. Then Lenz happens to be Historia Reiss, the daughter of Rod Reiss, who is the rightful successor of the power of the Coordinate.
In addition, iDigital Times note that new characters will appear in the 2nd season which include Captain Kenny Ackerman and the Beast Titan. The plotline of the royal Reiss family will also be featured and the family members which include Uri Reiss, Rod Reiss, Frieda Reiss will be introduced.
As of now, no official release date for "Attack on Titan" Season 2 has been released yet. However, speculations suggest that the manga TV series is expected to launch anytime soon in first half of 2016.
