Google will be releasing its set of Nexus devices this year and it is expected to include the Nexus 7X and Nexus 8P. With the release of these forthcoming handsets, its predecessors, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, received discounts.
According to Yibada, Google's Nexus 2016 project is progressively shaping up as fresh reports show that the biggest search engine company has narrowed down the candidate builders to two, Huawei and HTC. Meanwhile, the next Nexus' operating system, dubbed as Android N, is set be released in the third quarter of the year. Additionally, it is expected that the Pure Android flagships could be unveiled July 2016.
The probability of a July debut for the Nexus 2016 handsets was hinted by Google's confirmation that Android N preview or beta builds will be given starting this week. The Android N or version 7.0 will release in at least five beta versions prior to the launch of the OS' final cut, which based on some information will touch down anytime starting July.
When it comes to the specs and features of the upcoming Nexus devices, Morning News USA noted that the Nexus 7X will sport a 7-inch display. Nevertheless, some restraints will be put on its hardware specs to make it more affordable.
The upcoming smartphone will share some features similar to the Nexus 5X, which was wrapped in premium and plastic finish. Google plans to utilize polycarbonate for its upcoming 7X to make it look and feel like its predecessor. When it comes to the other specs, the 7X will come engineered with 2GB of RAM and Snapdragon 808. The handset will have a screen resolution of 2K and the rear shooter might be a 5MP sensor.
On the other hand, the Nexus 8P is said to be built in a metal and glass mold giving the handset a highly sophisticated appearance. The slate is anticipated to come with a Quad HD display, SD 820 main engine and 4GB of RAM. The primary camera of the phone is 8MP and most probably, the 8P will be a scaled up version of the Nexus 6P released last year.
