Candice Accola-King who is currently on maternity leave is set to return in the final episode of this season. The CW president Mark Pedowitz officially announced that "The Vampire Diaries" has been renewed for an 8th installment. The Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley-starrer will be a part of their 2016 and 2017 line-up. However, no information has been stated about the number of episodes that the network has ordered, TV Line has cited.
Other than that, cast member Candice Accola-King, who plays the role of Caroline Forbes, officially returns in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. According to International Business Times, the 28-year-old American actress, singer and songwriter has been absent for four consecutive episodes since she is currently having her maternity leave. Accola gave birth to a baby girl named Florence May King last January 15, 2016. Accola's character is set to reappear in the finale episode of the season.
