'The Huntsman: Winter's War' is an upcoming dark fantasy and adventure film directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. Lead actress Emily Blunt admitted that one particular film catapulted her to Hollywood success. The newest trailer revealed that her character was originally good but was betrayed by her own sister.
According to E! Online, Golden Globe-awardee Emily Blunt revealed that starring in 'The Devil Wears Prada' alongside Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci back in 2006 paved her way to a career in Hollywood. She said, "Then Devil was the film everyone loved and saw, so it had a huge impact on my career. It helped reveal a certain part of me; I wasn't just the ingenue or the English rose. It helped me be seen as a character actor, which is what I'd always wanted."
Although she had her first breakout role in the 2004 drama 'My Summer of Love', the English actress acknowledged 'The Devil' as the film that gained her international fame in the entertainment industry. She also admitted that she intended to keep her private life out of social media. She said, "It's about a balance... I really am in love with this job, but I'm also in love with my life outside of it. One of them very much feeds the other."
Blunt will portray Freya the Ice Queen in the upcoming dark fantasy-adventure film intended as the prequel story to 2012's 'Snow White and the Huntsman' directed by Rupert Sanders. Freya is Ravenna the Evil Queen's sister and was initially thought of as an ally to the dark side. However, in the latest official trailer released, it was revealed that Freya was not exactly the enemy.
According to Variety, the newest trailer for 'The Huntsman: Winter's War' exposed the powerful rivalry between the two siblings, making it clearer that Freya and Ravenna did not share the same malicious side. It was revealed that Ravenna's betrayal of Freya caused the latter to flee the kingdom and retreat to an ice castle. Freya plots her revenge by creating a powerful army to execute Ravenna.
Blunt referred to her character as one with a tragic backstory, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She said, "I don't know if I'm just as evil... You vamp it up, and it's so fun."
Other members of the ensemble cast include Charlize Theron as Ravenna, Jessica Chastain as Sara and Chris Hemsworth as The Huntsman. They are joined by Sam Claflin, Sophie Cookson, Colin Morgan, Nick Frost, Sheridan Smith and Mark Haldor among others.
