The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is rolling out to the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 under Verizon. It is expected to arrive to the HTC One M8 on Monday.
Good news to Motorola Droid Turbo 2 users - Android 6.0 Marshmallow has finally arrived on the device under carrier Verizon. According to a previous report by Lawyer Herald, the Droid Turbo 2 will receive the most recent security patches along with Marshmallow. The build has been tested for problems and has been enhanced to maximize performance on the device.
Ecumenical News said that Android Marshmallow brings a lot of goodies and new features to the Motorola Droid Turbo 2. This includes battery-saving features like Doze and App Standby. The Doze battery manager removes unnecessary apps running in the background when the device is not being used to prolong battery life.
App Standby also helps minimize the phone's battery consumption. The feature shuts down apps that are seldom used to save on power. Users are allowed to select specific apps that can be targeted with this feature.
Another nifty Marshmallow feature is Google Now on Tap. With this functionality, the phone will be able to give results based on contextual information. Now on Tap can be accessed by simply pressing and holding down the home button of the phone.
Meanwhile, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will begin rolling out to the HTC One M8 next week, as per Android Headlines. Mo Versi, HTC Vice President, has confirmed the release in a Twitter post. The HTC One M8 under Verizon is expected to start getting the update on Monday.
However, there could be some delays in the update roll out to the HTC One M8. It was reported that the Marshmallow update for the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 has been delayed for days, since it was announced that it will get updated on March 1. The same scenario is expected to happen to the HTC One M8 Marshmallow update roll out.
