Another adventure is set to begin in the upcoming Toy Story 4 which Pixar president Jim Morris confirmed to be a separate story than the 3 preceding flicks. It is also speculated to explore the romantic lives of the franchise's protagonists, Buzz Lightyear and Woody.
The upcoming movie will pick up where the third film left off, but according to Morris, it is headed to a different direction. "It is not a continuation of the end of the story of Toy Story 3. Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic-comedy. It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie", Morris stated as reported by Vine Report.
The next movie is rumored to center on the love lives of Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Buzz Lightyear is speculated to pursue Jesse who has been romantically linked in the previous films. According to Christian Post, the development in Buzz Lightyear and Jesse's love story will reportedly motivate Woody to find Bo Peep, who was not featured in the previous film.
The reason for Bo Peep's absence in the third film is still unknown. However, as reported by Ecumenical News, the reason for her absence is expected to be revealed in the fourth film. Several speculations have been formed as to the possible cause of her disappearance one of which suggest that she could have been sold by Andy or given away by Mrs. Davis.
Toy Story 4 is still several years away from its official release date on June 15, 2018 and more details on its plot are expected to be revealed as it nears its release. Tom Hanks is expected to return to voice as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Annie Potts as Bo Peep, Joan Cusack as Jesse and Laurie Metcalf as Mrs Davis. It is set to be directed by John Lasseter and Josh Cooley from screenplay by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
