'Frozen 2': A love story arc for Olaf teased; Zootopia breaks weekend opening record of 'Frozen'

Frozen 2 is currently in the works under Disney and while the project is currently in its early stages, rumors are already rampant as to the possible direction its plot is heading. The first film remains to be the highest grossing animated film ever released but it was recently beaten by Zootopia in its opening record.

Queen Elsa and Anna's return is expected in the upcoming sequel, however, the next film in the franchise might prove to include major revelations if latest plot rumors are to go by. According to Youth Health Magazine, Elsa and Anna may not actually be bonded by blood as Elsa is rumored to be Rapunzel's biological sister.

The theory is largely based on Rapunzel and Flynn Rider's brief appearances in the first film during the day that Elsa's coronation as Queen of Arendale. Moreover, speculations suggest that the similarities in Elsa and Rapunzel's features could be evidence of their sisterhood.

Moreover, according to Master Herald, the fan favorite snowman, Olaf, could also get a bigger part as he is rumored to meet the love of his life. Latest rumors suggest that a love story could be in the works for Olaf which has delighted many fans.

But despite numerous claims about its plot, it is important to take these rumors with a grain of salt while the wait for official details from the mouse house continues. Meanwhile, Frozen's weekend opening record was recently broken by Zootopia.

According to Gamespot, Zootopia earned $73.7 million during its opening weekend which is higher than Frozen's $67.4 million and setting a new record for Disney animated films. Disney's Disney Hollis said that the film did not face competition for its March release. "There's an absence of competition. We are set up to have a big, big run", he said.

Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are set to return in the directors' chair for Frozen 2. Plot and release details for the upcoming sequel are yet to be released. The first film is currently the highest grossing animated film ever having earned 1.2 billion worldwide.
