Sony Xperia X and Xperia XA now available for pre-order in UK: Sony's next flagship carrier

Sony has already taken the sheets of its new smartphone line up during the MWC event in Barcelona, the Xperia X series. Pre-orders are now ongoing in the UK for the Xperia X and the Xperia XA.

According to Phones Review, Sony has dropped the Xperia Z flagship line up to make way for the new Xperia X phones. The Sony Xperia XA is the lesser variant among the X series though it has a mid-range specs. The X series line up will be topped by the high-end Sony Xperia X.

The Sony Xperia X smartphones will look differently from Sony's block-design Z series. It will have a curved glass display and rounded edges that make the frame look continuous. It will feel comfortable to hold. The XA has an edge to edge display. Both devices are 5 inches in length and measure 7.9mm thick with a full HD screen for the Xperia X and a 720p display for the XA.

Both smartphone cameras of the next generation Xperia offers a super-fast and sharp spontaneous photos. The Xperia X added a predictive Hybrid Autofocus into the mix. The new feature lets users select a subject and then predicts its motion to keep the focus maintained on it as per Tech Advisor.

To be specific, the Xperia X will have a 23MP rear-facing camera while having a 13MP front facing shooter. The XA, on the other hand, will have a 13MP main camera coupled with an 8MP front facing snapper. The X will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragons 650 chipsets while the XA will have the MediaTek MT6755 octa-core processor. Both smartphones will have a 200GB expandable microSD slot.

According to reports from GSM Arena, there is still no official information regarding the date to when the two devices will start shipping. If consumers really want to have the device, all they can do at the moment is make a pre-order and be patient.

A mobile retailer in the UK has already opened pre-orders for these devices and prices will start at 529 pounds for the 32GB Xperia X while the Xperia XA who has a 16GB storage will be priced at a lower 249 pounds.

Sony smartphones may not be first on the list when it comes high-end flagship devices but looking at the specs and features that the X series has in store, it would not be a surprise if some consumers might give it a second thought.
