'Homeland' Season 6 Premiere on October 2nd: New installment to feature Donald Trump, Muslim immigration and Dar Adal's return

By

Rumors have surfaced that Carrie Mathison and Peter Quinn's fate will be the core content of "Homeland" Season 6 while EP David Nevins stated that the upcoming installment will involve Donald Trump, the Muslim immigration, and the return of F. Murray Abraham's to reprise role as Dar Adal.

Rumor has it that the upcoming season will focus on Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Peter Quinn's (Rupert Friend) future. Movie News Guide reports that Quinn's fate was just a part of Mathison's thoughts and is not real. Quinn was the only one holding Mathison at her best and worst personality because removing his character from the scene would highly likely put the show in jeopardy.

In addition, executive producer David Nevins revealed via Entertainment Weekly in January on what fans should expect in the 6th installment of "Homeland". Nevins stated, "Homeland will be shot next year in New York City, it will be set primarily in New York area but not exclusively. Might the season's new story have anything to do with Donald Trump, or Muslim immigration fears? They don't tend to [use] real people, but they tend to find themes that are real, so it's possible."

Other than that, F. Murray Abraham officially signs in to return to "Homeland" Season 6. According to Ecumenical News, the 76-year-old veteran American actor will reprise his role as Dar Adal. Adal happens to be a CIA black operations director and an old friend of Saul Michael Berenson (Mandy Patinkin).

Adal will be seen feeling guilty for elite CIA black-ops agent Peter Quinn'ssuffering back in season 5. Quinn was tortured in the hands of the jihadists inside a gas chamber Abraham's character will try to make up for his mistakes as he returns.

"Homeland" Season 2 is expected to premiere on Sunday, October 2, 2016 exclusively on Showtime.

"Homeland" is an American political thriller TV series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa that is based on the Israeli series "Hatufim" (English title: Prisoners of War) which was created by Gideon Raff.
