A lot of Apple patrons have been eagerly waiting for its upcoming event to be held on March 21. During the said occasion, the American tech giant is expected to reveal two of its new products, the iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3.
According to NASDAQ, the Apple Inc.'s first product event of the year, wherein the American tech company is predicted to launch a new smaller iPhone and a new iPad model, has reportedly been pushed back by a week in March.
Based on some surfacing reports, the release of Apple's new 4-inch iPhone and new 9.7-inch iPad is now speculated to be in the week of March 21. This basically means that the event will be held a day before Apple is slated to appear in court to answer a motion to comply with the FBI in unlocking a phone used by one of the suspects in the San Bernardino, California terror attack.
The Indian Express took note of some of the features that might be present with the upcoming iPhone. The 4-inch smartphone could be called iPhone SE, and not iPhone 5SE as it was rumored initially. With this upcoming iPhone, Apple is said to be returning to the iPhone 5s style. It can be noticed that the Apple iPhone 6 series marked the company's entry into the big-screen smartphone space, but with its forthcoming device, the company would go back to its old and small style.
There are also speculations that the iPhone SE will have the same design as iPhone 5s, but with curved edges. This handset is also believed to run the A9 chip with M9 motion co-processor. The iPhone SE is unlikely to come without a headphone jack, so this one will not give a glimpse into what iPhone 7 will look like. Reports also stated that the new iPhone SE could come with support for live photos and 3D Touch features seen in iPhone 6s series.
The iPad Air 3 will also get a portion of the spotlight during the event and International Business Times stated that this tablet would be the replacement for the iPad Air 2, which was released back in October 2014. The upcoming model is believed to be ditching the Air name, and will instead become a smaller version of the new iPad Pro.
The forthcoming iPad will reportedly keep the 9.7-inch screen size as the Air 2, and include support for a new range of Smart Keyboards and Apple Pencil stylus. Under its chassis will be powered by the same A9X processor as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and it will have the same four-speaker audio setup. The release of the new iPad Pro will see Apple slim down its tablet portfolio, as the original Air and older iPad minis are taken off sale.
Aside from the iPhone and iPad, Apple is also expected to announce a new range of straps for the its smartwatch, but there is no available information yet as of the moment. A new version of the Watch, however, is seemingly unlikely as Apple only refresh its wearable every two years. This means the company's patron shouldn't be expecting Watch 2 until late 2016 or early 2017.
Although the details about the iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 are not yet confirmed, one thing is for sure and that is Apple Inc. holding an event this month. It is anticipated to highlight devices that will surely get the interest of most tech enthusiasts.
