Although Apple is scheduled to hold an event next month highlighting its new devices, a lot of tech enthusiasts are still looking forward with the iPhone 7. Recently, another rumor has surfaced stating that the next member of the iPhone family will be sporting a dual camera lens and a stereo speaker.
Mac Rumors stated on its article that Apple's chip suppliers like Cirrus Logic and Analog Devices (ADI) have started to book production capacity for the upcoming iPhone 7. The production of the newest member of the iPhone family is predicted to ramp up in the second and third quarters, ahead of the smartphone's launch in September.
Cirrus Logic is noteworthy given that Barclays analysts believe the iPhone 7 will have dual speakers supplied by the Austin-based company. Based on a research note to investors, Barclays stated that the second speaker might be positioned on the space currently occupied by the 3.5mm headphone jack on current iPhones.
It can be remembered that previous reports suggest that Apple will remove the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7 in favor of an all-in-one Lightning connector for audio output, charging, and connecting peripherals. The handset is predicted to have support for Bluetooth headphones, and a digital-to-audio adapter could allow use of wired headphones.
Additionally, it was also reported that at least one iPhone 7 or 7 Plus model is believed to have a dual-lens camera system, with driver components supplied by ADI. The dual-lens hardware might be based on LinX technology, which is expected to provide brighter and clearer DSLR-quality photos and other major advantages.
It was noted that LinX's multi-aperture cameras produces impressive image quality in a smaller size than single-aperture cameras. This could mean that the iPhone 7 Plus could also lack a protruding camera lens. A flush camera would let the iPhone 7 to lay flat on a table, like older-generation iPhones, and it would contribute to a slimmer iPhone design.
Aside from the above mentioned changes with the iPhone 7, Parent Herald noted that the next gen iPhone might have a USB-C port similar with the one seen on the new 12 inch MacBook. However, this is unlikely after the recent change to the Lightning port.
Other possible improvements in iPhone 7 include an edge-to-edge screen, wireless charging and better waterproofing. Some previous speculations about the next generation iPhone seem to not be affirmed. These include a curved display, 3D screen, flexible display, spring-out gaming joystick in the Home button.
When it comes with the price, PC Advisor stated that for the past iPhone release Apple has kept the pricing the same. That means the iPhone 7 might cost £539 for a 16GB version, £619 for 64GB, and £699 for the 128GB iPhone 7. Speculations suggest that there might be a 256GB model of iPhone 7, although that is unlikely to happen. Nevertheless, it could be expected to be tagged at £800.
The above details are just based on rumors and with the span of time Apple Inc. has the company may still enhance and improve its upcoming iPhone 7. Nonetheless, Apple patrons can take this information as guide while there are no concrete facts available.
