'Power Rangers' Reboot Update: Cast Trains For Stunt Performance As Production Commences; Film Gets Initial Plot Details; Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa

Kids in the year of 1990s should be ecstatic by now as a reboot for the well-known Power Rangers is in store already. This film would surely bring cinematic nostalgia to the audience, specifically those who grew up with the popular series. The reboot is announced to be released on March 24, 2017.

According to Tech Times, actors and actresses who have been tapped for the roles of the Power Rangers are Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger), Becky Gomez (Yellow Ranger), Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger) Ludi Lin (Black Ranger) and RJ Cyler (the Blue Ranger). The site noted might not be that prominent but they are taking their characters as the next Power Rangers seriously. They have been vigorously preparing themselves physically for their roles. Evidences of their workouts were in fact, seen on their respective Instagram accounts.

Montgomery, Gomez, Scott, Lin and Cyler are all prepping themselves up as they are set to do many physical works in their roles. Although they have their stunt doubles, it is said that the main cast are also expected to perform more of their characters' stunts.

Aside from that, joining the cast as well is Elizabeth Banks who will be playing the character of one of the nemesis of the Power rangers, Rita Repulsa, as reported by GQ. Many were delighted by this news and her involvement in the reboot have set the expectations from the movie higher.

As for the plot, Cinema Blend reported that it will be more like what was seen in their TV program version except the fact that it will have more budget than the usual. Fans can then expect special effects of the reboot to adapt the new and more advanced technology, meaning it will be better than what can be seen in TV. The movie production has already started and its setting is in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Power Rangers is a children television program which started in the year of 1990s. The program was adapted from its Japanese original version, Super Sentai. The story revolves around a group of teenagers who transformed as Power Rangers in order to fight evil aliens who want to take over the earth.
