Although some patrons in different countries and regions are still waiting for the Android Marshmallow firmware, the South Korean tech company has already started rolling out the Android v6.0 and v6.0.1 to Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge+ and other Galaxy devices.

According to Yibada, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 are now obtaining the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. But the latest firmware update could arrive later depending on a user's carrier such as T-Mobile, US Cellular, Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.

Nonetheless, owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 could go to their 'Settings' menu to check if the update is already available for an over-the-air download. There are also reports suggesting that these two devices are getting the Android Marshmallow software throughout the world. Also, the Android version 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware has arrived to these flagship models as well.

On the other hand, other Galaxy devices such as Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy S5 are expected to receive the update in March and April. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus on the other hand are slated to obtain the update in early March.

Although there is no exact date yet, Galaxy S5 LTE-A, S5 Neo, S6 Duos and Note 4 Duos will also get the Android Marshmallow update in first quarter of 2016 while the Tab S2 8.0, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Alpha will be updated to Android M in second quarter of 2016. Unluckily, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 are not eligible for the latest Marshmallow update.

Meanwhile, Canadian carrier Telus has recenrly laid down an estimated roadmap about its plans on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow release. According to the carrier, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 owners could expect the new operating system starting March 9.

Gospel Herald also noted that this firmware is already being distributed to Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Note 5 devices in South Korea. The S6 Edge+ units on the SK Telecom network are currently obtaining the upgrade. It has the built number G928SKSU2BPAG and comes more than 1 gigabyte in size. This software update can be downloaded over-the-air or manually installed via Samsung's Smart Switch desktop application.

Users of the Galaxy Note 5 in the said Asian country are primarily getting the update. Local carriers LG U Plus as well as SK Telecom are reportedly rolling it out via OTA, with the other major carriers to trail soon.

Moreover, there is no available information yet about the exact schedule of the Android 6.0.1 release in other markets where the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Note 5 are available. However, previous trends indicate that once an Android firmware becomes available in one region, it is only a matter of weeks before it becomes accessible globally.

It is also worth mentioning that Samsung has only released Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to unlocked versions of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones available in the United States and other markets. It is yet to be known when the carrier variants of these smartphones will have the latest OS upgrade.

Although it has not been confirmed by Samsung yet, it is still nice knowing that the aforementioned devices will receive the Android 6.0 and 6.0.1 versions soon.
