After the phenomenal finale of the Harry Potter movie franchise, fans of the series were left brokenhearted as they will no longer see their favorite characters. However, J.K. Rowling has given the Potterheads something to look forward to. Five years later after the last film of the franchise was released, a spinoff movie of Harry Potter entitled 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is slated to be released.
Fans were ecstatic to know about this as they will soon again visit the wizarding world. Ecumenical News shares that the lead character is going to be portrayed by Eddie Redmayne who is famous for his roles in 'The Theory of Everything' and 'The Danish Girl.' His role is Newt Scamander who is a magizoologist who is set off to New York in the 1920's. As he travels, he brings with him a set of beasts who are put into his suitcase. But apparently, some of these beasts are able to go out of the suitcase which will bring chaos to New York.
As Scamander will go through his journey in looking for the beasts that have escaped, just like Harry Potter, he will have company. These are Jacob Kowalski (Dan Folger), Porpentina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), Queenie (Alison Sudol), and the No-Maj or muggle.
Movie Pilot reports that as the news of escaped beasts reached the American wizarding authorities, it will make actions that will be critical on the magical and non-magical relations. The situation is going to be more complicated as an extremist organization against the existence of the wizarding world arises. This organization is named as the New Salem Philanthropic Society.
On the other note, Rowling is the one who will write the screenplay of the movie according to Variety. Also, it will be directed by Director Yates who has also helmed other Harry Potter movies.
'Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them' exists in the same universe as the Harry Potter series which made Rowling famous. The book was first published in the year 2001 and was also mentioned in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. In the story, Potter has a copy of the book wherein he learned more about beasts creatures together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
'Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them' is set to be released on November 18th this year.
