HTC is bound to release its flagship handset, the HTC One M10. Recently, the company's executive confirmed that the smartphone will feature a very compelling camera.
According to Phone Arena, HTC Chief Financial Officer Chialin Chang has revealed a piece of information about the HTC One M10's camera. Based on the executive's statement, HTC's next-generation flagship smartphone will offer "a very, very compelling camera experience". He is also is confident about the camera's appeal after seeing what's going on in the market. Chang is most probably referring to the fact that the company has checked out the new high-end handsets unveiled this month at MWC 2016.These include the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5, both of which arrived with very promising cameras.
It can be remembered that the HTC One M10 was reported to feature a 12 MP UltraPixel rear camera with laser auto focus. This is an important change from the 20 MP rear-facing camera of the One M9, as well as from the 4 MP UltraPixel dual camera of the One M8. For reference, the cameras of the One M9 and One M8 haven't really been on par with what the competition offered. A 12 MP shooter armed with larger-than-usual-pixels is expected to deliver high quality images even in low light scenarios. But the final quality of the camera will also depend on what sensor and software HTC will be using.
Aside from the camera, International Business Times noted other features that are expected to be seen in the HTC One M10. This handset is expected to arrive with a chamfered design together with antenna bands on its rear panel making it to have a premium appeal. The One M10 is also speculated to offer three inbuilt storage variants namely; 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The 16 GB model is believed to be targeting the emerging markets. Meanwhile, other markets are expected to receive the 32 GB and 64 GB models.
The HTC One M10 will also be released in two chipset variants. The major markets are predicted to receive the Snapdragon 820 chipset variant whereas others will likely receive a chipset from MediaTek. This handset is also speculated to include the fingerprint scanner feature in its physical Home button.
When it comes with the screen size, the HTC One M10 will have a 5.1-inch or 5.2-inch screen that has support for Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It was also reported that HTC may be working on Windows 10 Mobile powered devices. With this, early speculations suggest that an HTC One M10 Windows 10 Mobile edition will be also announced soon.
As for the device's name, TechnoBuffalo stated on its article that HTC hasn't confirmed if the smartphone will indeed be named as HTC One M10. Nevertheless, the teaser that was release seemed to strongly suggest that the company will stick with its numbered naming scheme. As of the moment, it won't be a surprise if the upcoming device will be called One M10.
Since HTC is speculated to hold a stand-alone event in early April, tech enthusiasts are expecting the HTC One M10 to make its first appearance during the occasion. Nonetheless, it is much safer to wait for further details from the Taiwanese tech company.
