The Mobile World Congress has been a witness to the unveiling of flagship handsets from different smartphone makers. Three of the most interesting handsets were Xiaomi Mi 5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. Recently, AnTuTu Benchmark has revealed the Mi 5 to have a higher score compared to Galaxy S7 and G5.
Android Headlines stated on its article that Xiaomi Mi 5 has scored 142,084 on AnTuTu v.6.0.4, which actually knocks the results of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, as well as the LG G5. The LG G5 was able to score 133,054 points while the Galaxy S7 scored 116,668 points. Nevertheless, these are just benchmark numbers and it really doesn't indicate anything about the device's performance.
The display resolution of the handset probably affected these results since the LG G5 and Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge sport QHD panels, while the Xiaomi Mi 5 features a fullHD display. All of these devices definitely sport incredibly powerful hardwares, and it will be exciting to test these smartphones in different scenarios.
Aside from the benchmarking scores, Tech Times have made a keen comparison between the Xiaomi Mi 5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. For the display aspect, LG's flagship handset is armed with a 5.3-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and 554 pixels per inch. On the other hand, the Galaxy S7 has a smaller 5.1-inch Quad HD screen but the resolution is same to that of the LG G5. However, the pixel density is 577 pixels per inch. The Xiaomi Mi 5 also has a smaller 5.15-inch Quad HD screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and its pixel density is the least among the three at 428 pixels per inch.
When it comes with the dimensions, the Galaxy S7 measures 5.61 x 2.74 x 0.31 inches, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is at 5.69 x 2.72 x 0.29 inches and the LG G5 measures 5.88 x 2.91 x 0.30 inches. Based on the measurements, LG offers the tallest and widest handset, whereas the Xiaomi smartphone is the thinnest. Weight-wise, at 159 grams. The LG G5 is apparently the heaviest among the three smartphones. The Galaxy S7, which weighs 152 grams, comes second to Xiaomi Mi 5 at 129 grams.
All of the three handsets are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor but, some models of the Galaxy S7, depending on the location of release, also feature Exynos 8890 SoC. Both the LG G5 and the Galaxy S7 have 4 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the 32 GB and 64 GB models of the Xiaomi Mi 5 boast 3 GB of RAM while the 128 GB ceramic version has 4 GB of RAM.
Storage wise, the LG G5 comes with 32 GB of in-built storage capacity, whereas the Xiaomi Mi 5 boasts 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage options. The Galaxy S7 arrives in only 32 GB and 64 GB options but all of these three smartphones have an expandable memory option that can support up to 200 GB.
When it comes with the camera department, the LG G5 has a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter. The Galaxy S7 has a 12-megapixel primary camera and the Xiaomi Mi 5 sports 16-megapixel snapper. All of the three handsets support OIS, autofocus and dual-LED flash. As for the front camera, the LG G5 has an 8-megapixel selfie camera, which surpasses the 5-megapixel mounted on the Galaxy S7 and the 4-megapixel snapper of the Xiaomi Mi 5.
As noted by Tech Radar, the LG G5 is powered by a removable 2,800 mAh battery unlike the Xiaomi Mi 5 and the Galaxy S7 which offer non-removable 3,000 mAh batteries. For the operating system, all these flagship smartphones come pre-loaded with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The LG G5, Galaxy S7 and the Xiaomi Mi 5 all come equipped with fingerprint sensors. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S7 is IP68 certified and is both water and dust resistant -something Xiaomi and LG do not have in its handsets. While the Galaxy S7 also offers the Motion Photo option, which is akin to Apple's Live Photos, LG focuses on extra modules that can be attached to the G5.
For the color and availability, the Galaxy S7 is said to be sold in black, white, silver and gold varieties of colors starting March 11. The LG G5 is slated to hit the market shelves on April and retail in silver, titan, gold and pink. The Xiaomi Mi 5, on the other hand, is also scheduled to go on sale on March in black and white hues, as well as a gold variety with a eramic finish.
Xiaomi Mi 5 will be tagged at approximately Rs 26,499 while LG's flagship G5 will go on sale at roughly Rs 48,000. Samsung Galaxy S7 has the highest price among the three at around Rs 53, 500.
