Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Release Slated on March 3 in India; Pre-Order Now Available for $246

Xiaomi recently announced the newest family member of its Redmi line-up, dubbed as Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, which is expected to hit the Indian market on March 3. Nevertheless, this handset from the Chinese tech company is now available for pre-order for only $246.

According to Android Headlines, Xiaomi is a company which needs a little to no introduction. Although there is a huge number of smartphone manufacturers now arising from China, Xiaomi is one of the few companies that are already recognized globally in just a very small span of time. One of the reasons is the company's sustained approach to bringing high-quality smartphones to the public and marketing them for extremely affordable prices. As a matter of fact, one of its biggest selling lines is the Redmi range of handsets which recently had a new addition in the form of the Redmi Note 3 Pro.

Based on a report by Christian Post, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be launched in India next week. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer will debut its upcoming device in the Indian market on March 3 during an open event at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. The said occasion is also open to patrons of the company and media.

When it comes to specs and features, Business Insider noted that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is armed with an all-metal iPhone 6-ish looks. The handset measures 150x76x8.65 mm and weighs 164 grams which is just about the same as Lenovo K4 Note. It has a fingerprint sensor at the back giving it an edge over the likes of Moto G 3rd Gen and Mi 4i.

The Redmi Note 3 is engineered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset and not the MediaTek's Helio X10 Processor available in China since Xiaomi has an ongoing patent case with equipment maker Ericsson. The Mediatek X10 has 2 more cores being a Flagship SoC but its benchmark performance was actually low compared to the Snapdragon 650.

This smartphone is expected to be available in two variants one will have a 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage and the other has 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. It also supports 4G LTE and holds a dual-SIM card slot.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 boasts of a 5.5 inch 1080p display that offers 178 degree viewing angle. Under the chassis, it runs on MIUI 7, the latest version of the custom Xiaomi interface based on Android Lollipop. The huge 4000mAh battery capacity packed inside arrives with fast charging support that charges up to 50% in just 1 hour. On the camera department, it is armed with a 16MP snapper that features Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) and two-tone LED flash on its back. The front on the other hand, goes with a 5MP selfie shooter.

Xiaomi's event in New Delhi is open for everyone and as a matter of fact, the company is reserving free entrance tickets for fans. Patrons who reach the venue at an early time will get a gift pack from Mi as well.
