The defamation lawsuit case filed by Bill Cosby against the American supermodel, Beverly Johnson was dropped by the court. According to Cosby's defense lawyer, the comedian actor dropped the case in order to set his focus on his criminal case's defense.

A court documents stated, Monique Pressley, Bill Cosby's attorney dropped the suit on the 19th of February, Fox News reported. On the email sent to the source, the 78-year old wanted to prioritize his defense in his Pennsylvania criminal case. A former Temple University employee charged Cosby with drugging and sexual assaulting, on which she claimed happened at his home in Philadelphia in 2004. Cosby denied the said claims.

His lawyer added, Cosby will file again the suit against the supermodel before the statute of limitations expires, ABC News reported. Cosby repeatedly accused by Johnson of drugging her on her cappuccino drink while at his home in New York. She claimed she angrily refused the comedian-actor's advances. An injunction was filed by Cosby, preventing Johnson on repeating the accusations.

Johnson took interviews from various new channel, such as ABC's 'Good Morning America' and 'Nightline' telling her claims, according to the Daily Mail. The dropped lawsuit stated that "the leading model in the 1970s and '80s and one of his most high-profile accusers, defamed him and intentionally inflicted emotional distress." Court records also stated that the suit is seeking a jury trial.

Earlier this month, Cosby sued the former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand, her mother, lawyers and a publishing media over breach of contract on a confidential agreement settlement. Cosby also demanded Constand to pay back the settlement money with interest and for the damages.

However, Cosby is being accused that the said moved was used in order to "bully and intimidate the accuser. On Tuesday, Pressley refused to make further comment regarding the bullying claims. She said the defense would file a written response in court.
