'Jane The Virgin' Season 2: Petra gives birth to twins; Kat del Castillo to be replaced?

"The Returned" alum Mat Vairo officially returns to "Jane the Virgin" Season 2 to reprise his role as Rafael's stepbrother. "The Blacklist" actress Ana de la Reguera has been cast as Rogelio's new assistant. Also, The CW finally released the official plot description for episode 14 'Chapter Thirty-Six'.

"The Returned" star Mat Vairo has been confirmed to officially return to "Jane the Virgin" Season 2. According to TV Line, the American actor will be playing the role of Rafael Solano's (Justin Baldoni) stepbrother, Derek. Derek happens to be a devilish and mysterious rich kid who dropped out of Pepperdine so that he could travel and spend money. However, details about his parentage has not been revealed whether he is a Solano or if he is the son of Elena, Rafael's mother. Vairo's character will debut in the 14th episode of the show.

In addition, rumor has it that "The Blacklist" alum Ana de la Reguera has been cast for The CW series to replace Kate del Castillo's role. The 38-year-old Mexican actress will be portraying the character of Rogelio de la Vega's newest assistant, Paola. She happens to have a mysterious past that will be revealed in the 3rd and last episode of Paola's arc. De la Reguera's character is set to appear in 3 episodes, Latin Heat has cited.

As per the official plot of episode 14, Spoilers Guide notes, "Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Michael (Brett Dier) are back together and wished that she had never left him. Rafael have regressed to his playboy ways and Petra (Yael Grobglas) is concerned about him. But Petra is not aware that Rafael is helping Michael find Mutter's other son, Derek (Matt Vairo). Rogelio's (Jamie Camil) new assistant, Paola (Ana de la Reguera), is his stalker Lola. Finally, Petra gives birth to the twins."

"Jane the Virgin" Season 2 Episode 14 is entitled as "Chapter Thirty-Six". The upcoming episode is scheduled to premiere on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. exclusively on The CW.

"Jane the Virgin" is an American satirical romantic comedy-drama TV series developed by Jennie Snyder Urman. The storyline is based on the Venezuelan telenovela by Perla Farlas "Juana la Virgen".
