The much anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship smartphones are set to be revealed this week in a special event in China. The company will release two variants of the Mi series, the Mi 5 and the Mi 5 Plus.

According to the listings of an online seller named XiaomiDevice, the Mi 5 and the Mi 5 Plus almost come with the same specs. The Mi 5 Plus though has a much bigger screen that might come in 5.7-6 inches with a 2K IPS display, as per GSM Arena. The device also features a pressure-sensitive touchscreen, which has a similar function as Apple's 3D Touch technology.

According to Gadgets 360, based on the online seller's specs, the Mi 5 Plus utilizes the latest Snapdragon 820 processor chipset, coupled with a large 4GB of Random Access Memory and 64GB internal memory. The device will also be using Android's v6.0 Marshmallow OS and be powered by a 3000 mAh battery which has a QuickCharge 3.0 technology. Additionally, it will be utilizing a USB Type-C port for charging.

For the camera, the Mi 5 Plus will sport a pretty impressive 16-megapixel primary shooter with an 8-megapixel front snapper which will come handy on those selfie shots. Colorway options for the smartphones are gold, white and black.

As noted by International Business Times, Xiaomi might release a Windows 10 Mobile ROM for the Mi 5 users. This indicates that there might be two OS versions of the smartphone - one in Android and the other one in Windows 10 Mobile.

According to the online seller XiaomiDevice, the Mi 5 Plus will be priced at $599 which is considered nofficial since it is only from a third party seller. All these speculations and rumors will end however, as soon as Xiaomi unveils the Mi 5 Plus officially.
